Frequently Asked Questions
What is polypropylene channel drainage?
Polypropylene channel drains use a thermoplastic polypropylene channel body. They are lightweight, easy to handle and economical. They are used for A15 domestic pedestrian applications — patios, garden paths and threshold drainage.
Can polypropylene channels be used on a driveway?
The standard domestic polypropylene channels in the Forti Nova range are rated A15 — pedestrian use only. For driveways, a minimum B125-rated channel is required. The Hydro B125 and MAX B125 channels use polypropylene channel bodies rated for B125 driveway applications.
What load class do polypropylene channels carry?
Most domestic polypropylene channels carry an A15 load classification for pedestrian areas. Some polypropylene channels, such as the Hydro B125 and MAX B125, are engineered and tested to B125. Always confirm the specific load class of the product from its documentation.
How long is each polypropylene channel section?
Domestic polypropylene channels are supplied in 1000mm (one metre) sections as standard. Threshold channels such as the Pave-A-Drain body come in 2000mm sections.
